How do I get my wood stove, pellet stove, or chimney inspected?
The Fire Department does not inspect wood stoves, pellet stoves. or chimneys. Please contact the City of Revelstoke's Building Department at (250) 837-3637 for inspections.

How many calls does the Fire Department respond to annually?
Revelstoke's Fire Rescue Services responds to more than 500 calls annually. The breakdown is as follows:
More than 30 fire emergencies
More than 100 medical first responder emergencies
More than 130 Motor Vehicle Incidents
More than 200 miscellaneous calls (i.e., public service calls, etc.)

Do I need a permit for open burning?
Open-air burning within the city limits is permissible without an authorization for the purpose of special occasion fires only in accordance with bylaw 1772, section 5.01. Open-air burning within city limits is permissible with a written authorization for fire smart related projects in accordance with bylaw 1772, section 5.02.
