NEW 2021 HOMEOWNER GRANT APPLICATION

All property owners can now claim their current year home owner grant by submitting their application to the Province.

Municipalities are NO LONGER allowed to accept applications.

There are no changes to program eligibility requirements.

How to apply?

Eligible B.C. homeowners can apply for the 2021 homeowner grant now:

Apply 24/7 online: gov.bc.ca/homeownergrant

Apply with an agent: Toll-free at 1 888 355-2700, Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 5pm.

Apply 24/7 using a *voice recognition application:  Toll-free at 1 888 355-2700

Homeowners can use the voice recognition application if:

Their eligible home is a principal residence, and

They are applying for a basic or additional grant

Acceptable Methods


Acceptable methods of payment include:
  • Cash
  • Cheque
  • Installment plan
  • Interac
  • Online Banking (CIBC, RCU, RBC, BMO, TD Canada, Scotiabank)

INSTALLMENT PLANS

Property owners are reminded that they have the option of paying property taxes by monthly installment. In order to qualify, applications must be received no later than April 30 in the calendar year to which the application refers. For an application form and regulations, please contact the Finance Department at (250) 837-2161. An installment plan cancellation form is also available. Return all forms to the Finance Department at:

Credit Cards


Credit cards are no longer accepted for payment of property taxes.
