Delegations to Council

Appearing before Council as a Delegation Instructions and Information

Council welcomes delegations to appear before Council or a Committee. The purpose of a delegation is to provide information to Council or a Committee in order to assist Council in making good decisions on behalf of the Community.

Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 3:00 pm in Council Chambers. Committee of the Whole meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 2:00 pm in Council Chambers. Please refer to the City Meeting Calendar on this website for the actual dates.

A written submission must be filed with the Corporate Officer before 12:00 pm on the Monday the week before the scheduled Council Meeting at the latest (ie: 8 days prior to the meeting date). There is no guarantee the submission will be accepted for the next agenda, so the sooner the request is received, the sooner it will be scheduled.

The submission must include:
  • Subject matter to be discussed
  • The intended proposal or request, if any
  • Name(s) of the person(s) who will address Council
  • All handouts or digital presentations
This information will be included in the agenda and provides Council with an opportunity to consider the issue before the meeting in order to make an informed decision.

Delegations are permitted up to 10 minutes for presentations. Council members may ask questions after the presentation for clarification.

Please send delegation requests to admin@revelstoke.ca
