February 23, 2018, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ 510 Mackenzie Avenue
Revelstoke’s St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church is presenting a six-part series that will explore ways to reconcile damage done to the Columbia River Basin.
Columbia River Basin: Reconciling the Past for a Better Future will travel through time. It will start from the earliest rocks dating several billion years ago in the Columbia Basin, past multiple ice ages, mountain building, river carving, wildlife, salmon, early man, settlers and dams. It will explore the Columbia Basin Treaty Renewal, which is to be finalized by 2024. A pastoral letter given by the Bishops in the Columbia River Basin will be the guide for learning and reconciliation for environmental, landscape and human impacts that have harmed the region including the original Indigenous people and settlers.
Feb 23, 2018 session with review current status and the future (2014–future) recommendations and priorities for reconciliation in the Columbia River Basin and a better future. Anyone is welcome to attend the sessions
