  1. 50 Hour Wilderness First Aid Course

    April 21, 2017, 8:00 AM - April 23, 2017, 8:30 PM

How do you treat hypothermia when help is hours away? What is the best way to create a splint for someone who has broken their leg on a biking trip in the backcountry? Going into the wilderness without having these skills is like travelling without a passport . It might work out , or it might not, but you will have little control over the outcome.

  6. 2nd Annual Revelstoke Women's Mega Clothing Swap

    April 29, 2017, 11:30 AM - 3:00 PM @ Revelstoke Community Centre

HOW THE MEGA SWAP WORKS: You bring as many bags of women’s clothing (and shoes) you no longer need, wear, fit, whatever to swap! Clothing can be used or new but must be in clean, wearable condition (no torn or stained or otherwise damaged items). ALL FUNDS COLLECTED ARE DONATED TO THE REVELSTOKE HELIPAD FOR HOSPITAL PROJECT. There is no maximum of bags you can go back home with. Shop till you drop! We ask that items in the bags be separated by size and that each bag be marked with the size it contains this will make it easier for the volunteers to quickly sort and place. Browse and “shop” and fill up your bags with whatever you want, absolutely free of charge. The leftover clothes will also be distributed to various charities.

  7. 4th Annual Bike/Gear Swap & Expo

    April 29, 2017, 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Revelstoke Forum

Join the North Columbia Environmental Society and our many Expo hosts at our 4th annual bike and gear swap. We’ve planned the event a little differently this year, but the bottom line remains the same: meet and mingle with like minded individuals, help promote fossil fuel free transportation, divert waste from landfills by recycling gently used sporting equipment, and shop local! Pre-registration of equipment will be available and we can come pick up your gear before the event to make it hassle free. Looking to sell your gear? – $2 tags per item (smaller items can be sold together), 10% commission (up to $50) collected by the NCES on all items. Looking to buy gear? – $2 entrance fee, $5 family pass, kids under 5 are free. Payment by cheque, credit/debit, or e-transfer will be accepted for items over $100 (additional charges may apply), but we strongly encourage cash sales.
