December 28, 2022

Last evening City of Revelstoke snow removal operations, including City staff and contracted services made significant progress on clearing our City streets. Sincere thanks go out to our staff and contractors for their continued effort in addressing the delayed snow removal operation issues.

 

Crews took to the streets again this morning and I’m pleased to advise that the majority of the neighbourhood streets have been cleared.

December 27, 2022

Due to the recent snow event, the City of Revelstoke will be accelerating snow removal operations this evening with an emphasis on the downtown core, Southside, Arrow Heights, and the Big Eddy neighbourhoods. 

 

Tomorrow, December 28, crews will then turn their attention on Columbia Park, Court House, Lower Town and the Central neighbourhoods.

The living wage has gone up to $23.60 an hour in Revelstoke for 2022, a significant increase over the 2021 rate of $19.51, as shown by this year’s Living Wage Update report.

June 14, 2022 - Community Economic Development launches new pilot Data Dashboard

The public will now have access to key community economic development data through the community economic development dashboard, an interactive, online information management tool used to track, analyze, and display relevant community metrics and data points.

The pilot project was initiated in early 2021 by the Revelstoke Economic Development Commission of the City of Revelstoke & CSRD Area B sub-committee to empower local organizations and businesses across sectors with access to accurate, timely data, and to inform economic and social policy decisions at the municipal level.

April 14, 2022 - Budget Process Prompts Organizational Review

City Council initiated an organization assessment in conjunction with the 2022 Budget process while searching for a new Chief Administrative Officer. 

The City has retained Innova Strategy Group, to conduct an assessment to identify recommendations to improve organizational resilience and better serve the community. Council recognized the timely opportunity to evaluate existing resource potential by identifying efficiencies and opportunities that allow for the realization of Council’s goals and objectives in supporting improved services for local residents and visitors. Council expects a full report soon to help guide decisions for administrative changes to improve community service.

April 12, 2022 - Dog Deemed Dangerous Escaped from City of Revelstoke Animal Shelter

A dog in the temporary care and custody of the City of Revelstoke escaped the City’s Animal Shelter at some time during the evening of Monday, April 11, 2022. The City of Revelstoke staff began their investigation and search last night and notified the RCMP this morning. The dog was deemed dangerous due to unprompted aggressive behaviour and is a risk to members of the public and/or other animals. This dog remains at large.
